Footage released by the Russian Defense Ministry on Monday shows military exercises carried out by the army in the Bering Sea, as well as the Chukchi Sea, in Russia’s far northeast.
The Russian Defense Ministry said the exercises were aimed at “protecting the Northern Sea Route” and involved “around 10,000 military personnel and more than 50 units of military equipment.”
The ministry added that “all episodes of the exercise are defensive in nature.”
