(Budapest) A plane crashed during an aeronautical show in Hungary on Sunday, killing two people and injuring four, authorities said.
“According to preliminary information, apart from the pilot, there was one passenger on the plane. Both lost their lives,” Hungarian police said in a statement.
The tragedy occurred in the Szkesfehervar region, 70 kilometers southwest of Budapest, the capital. Four people were injured on the ground, three of whom were seriously burned, the emergency services said.
Among the seriously injured are a woman, a man and a girl. A young boy suffers minor injuries.
According to a video posted online by a local media outlet, the plane – a 1951 US Army model T-28 Trojan, according to the Hungarian press – went into a dive and exploded on the ground.
“The small plane fell near a parked car which caught fire,” police said in a statement.
