Coveo Solutions (CVO, $11.18): management is not worried about the development of generative artificial intelligence
Executives at the Montreal-based artificial intelligence (AI) platform provider see generative AI as a complement rather than a replacement for traditional research. This is the conclusion reached by Thanos Moschopoulos, analyst at BMO Capital Markets, following a recent meeting with them.
The analyst notes that Coveo executives believe search will account for 80-90% of user queries even as generative AI becomes more widely adopted, in part because generative AI queries are currently much more costly to treat.
Still according to the BMO analyst, Coveo people believe that users will prefer to interact with a single party who can provide both search and generative AI, and that they will want to ensure that the same data will generate at the same time. both search results and generative AI content.
From his meeting with Coveo executives, the analyst concluded that the company helps its clients face the main challenges presented by the operationalization of generative AI. Already a few customers will be testing the Coveo module over the coming weeks, and a subgroup has already committed to deploying it and paying for this solution.
The analyst who already had an “outperform” recommendation for the stock is now raising his one-year target price from $12.00 to $13.50.
